Social Security

make internet safe
Hey friends, This is Internet Salad. Last days I talked about music and also a noob’s guide to make an email and Facebook. So, making these things are really easy. But we have to keep them more secured. They includes the private information of us (some times). So it’s good to make them more secure. Even though they are secure to yourself, It may be not secure for hackers and others. So let’s talk about making the networks more secure.

First thing what I’m going to say is about your password. Please use a password that can’t be guessed by someone. Let us think that your girlfriend’s name is Kate. Some people may use passwords like “ilovekate” or something like that. And some people (even me when I’m small) use passwords like “123456”, “000000”....  etc. Don’t use passwords like that. They are very easy to guess. Birthday is also famous as a weak password.

So what can you use as a password ?
Choose a password that includes more than 10 characters. In these characters, try to make some of them Uppercase letters. And some Numbers too. The one I said in the beginning “ilovekate” also can be converted to a strong password by putting some of them. “i63LOVEkate87”. This seems like stupid but something strong. Try to include random numbers.

As the second one I’m going to tell you about a feature that in Gmail  called “two step verification”. So what is this two step thing. What are the two steps ? It’s so easy to understand. First step is normal. Entering your password. After we enter the password and said continue, a code is sent to our mobile phone by Gmail. So in the second step we have to enter that code.  If you want this only in untrusted computers (not in your computer) then simply make them trusted computers. That will be easy in later.

To enable the two step verification, simply go on to www.google.com/landing/2step/‎
There you will find the steps I mentioned you earlier.

Third and the last one is Facebook. It is something same like the Gmail method. It is called “Login Approvals”. When Someone or maybe you try to log into your Facebook from an unrecognized device it will send you a code to your phone. So you have to enter it. If you want to enable this feature Simply log into Facebook, go to settings then security, there you will find the “Login Approvals”.

So these are the simple steps to make your Social Accounts more secure. Try to enable them to for your own safe.

So bye for now.

Don't forget to subscribe via email. More good things to come
Please share ;)
